"ONE MOVIOLA" DESIGNED BY SPOON FOR MOVIOLA ASIA BAGS THE ONLY GOLD PENCIL AWARDED TO SINGAPORE AT THE 2003 ONE SHOW AWARDS IN NEW YORK.

Moviola is an award-winning film production house that was long due for an online presence. They called on Spoon as synergies were formed, having worked together on previous film projects. Their brief was simple - use images from their showreel and design a web experience that reflected who they are, their house style, values and aesthetic beliefs.

Spoon designed a simple site with a lot of flair and a unique Moviola style. In Spoon's design approach, Moviola had to be the hero and not the web medium. There was a clear avoidance of a trendy "flash-webby" look that is so evident with most sites today ,but is most often the case, inappropriate. A passionate goup of film-makers had to be represented, not web designers. Spoon designed filmic effects, lighting and transitions with simple and understated type animations. A cinematic soundtrack was employed to great effect. The completed site is collation of their work with re-purposed ideas and stories that are simple but carried conceptual depth.
